XYLO Brewery Tasting & Talk - Second Wednesday of XYLO Brewery Tasting & Talk - Second Wednesday of the month Next tasting: Wednesday 11th March at 8pm As we make our own beer we should really talk about it more! We’ve held numerous ad-hoc talks and tastings for groups at Xylo and other venues over the years that have been a lot of fun, so now we’re starting a monthly tasting & talk, right next to the brewing kit, on the second Wednesday of the month at 8pm. Ben will guide you through a selection of 8 beers and talk you through the history, styles, processes and ingredients that go into making them, with a couple of guest beers thrown in of styles we do not currently do so you get the full range. This is a relaxed casual guided tasting, no note books required, there will be no exam! Feel free to bring a takeaway and nestle in. The talk and tasting will last approximately 2 hours. We will require pre-booking to ensure we cover staffing costs. Please enquire at the bar or email bookings@xylobrew.com

New tanks require new coolant flow to keep the bee New tanks require new coolant flow to keep the beer tip top, and we are super happy with the way it's coming along. @mitch_goodyear has done a fantastic job so far and has put up with multiple delays and requests to change the layout as we only have one chance to get this right! We are getting close now and can't wait to fire up these bad boys! The taproom is back open after some quick patching up and we are running from keg until we have everything cleaned and tested, then it's all go in the brewery getting some tasty brews ready for you! Backgammon Social @ Xylo - Wednesday 4th February Backgammon Social @ Xylo - Wednesday 4th February @ 7pm (Monthly - First Wednesday of the month) Love a bit of backgammon. It’s a great social game that’s easy to learn, well paced and tactical, perfect whilst sipping a few wintery pints. So we’ve started a backgammon social, just on the back tables by the brewkit, monthly at first. Come on your own, with your friends, family, lovers or others, grab a drink and and have a game, both Gus and Ben will be on hand to teach you how to play if you’d like to learn and we’ll play a few games with you too. Feel free to bring your own board or use ours (we’ve started collecting them!), grab a takeaway to have in and make a night of it, the big question is, can you stack on the points?! First Wednesday of the month to start. Game on.

The time has come to say goodbye to our trusty OG The time has come to say goodbye to our trusty OG vessels and increase our serving capacity by replacing 3 of our smaller brite tanks with 6 newbies that are double the size! With a site as small as ours we are always looking for ways to gain extra space, but each time we squeeze a little extra out of every room, we quickly fill it with more product and need more storage for the ingredients to make that product, which requires more packaging to distribute that product and we just don't have the room. "If you can't build out, build up" One thing we are blessed with is high ceilings, so we had some beautiful new brite tanks produced for us to fit snugly in our cellar space with just enough room for a brewer to squeeze in with them! (TBC) We will be closed Mon 26th to get the old vessels out, ready to take delivery of our new recruits on Tues. We then need another day to get them into position and repair the inevitable damage to walls and doors as we squash them in!! Bar staff still work really hard to make your visit a great one. We’ve had this permanent card reader set up on the bar for a while now - simply tap it if you’re enjoying the service and it’ll take a quid that goes straight to the staff on payday. That Thing // 3.4% // Session IPA Superdelic, El That Thing // 3.4% // Session IPA Superdelic, El Dorado, and Motueka by the bucket load create a trinity of citrus, stone fruit, and tangy white grape. It may be low in abv and practically no bitterness at all, but it still packs a punch with oodles of flavour! It's a vibrant golden, juicy little number and we can't quite put our finger on it but it's just got 'that thing' you want in a fruity IPA. #brewedinmargate #beertography #session #lowabv #fruity #thatthing
